Tools required for replacing the faucet seal ring: adjustable wrench, replaced faucet seal ring, Vaseline. If you find that the cause of the water leakage is not due to loose nuts, then you need to replace the sealing ring. The sealing ring of the faucet can be a tight sealing ring composed of one or more O-ring rubber rings, or something like a thin rope or soft metal wire wrapped around the valve core under the packing nut. When replacing the sealing ring of the faucet, follow the steps below: 1. Turn off the water supply and remove the faucet handle. 2. Unscrew the packing nut and remove both the nut and the old sealing ring from the valve core. 3. Install a new sealing ring. If you are using a linear sealing material, wrap it around the valve core a few times. If it is a sealing material such as soft metal wire, only wrap it around the valve core once. Before reassembling the faucet, apply a thin layer of Vaseline oil to the threads of the valve core and packing nut. |
